[Ponte Alto] New Comers Meeting Next Week

James,

I've been thinking about what I can contribute to this office.

One thing I've noticed about newcomer's meetings is "information overload" -
the glazing over of eyes as everyone tries to tell new people about
everything that's available in the SCA.

I would like to discuss with you about the possibility of specializing each
month's meeting to a specific area; one month is garb, the next is creating
a persona, obtaining heraldry, etc. We'd still be able to address the people
who are brand-spanking new at each meeting, but I think this kind of
approach will bring people who've already been to one meeting back to
subsequent meetings as they try to figure out where they fit in.

I will be coming tonight so I can get your feedback as we wait for people to
arrive.

Also, Jurgen and I would like to volunteer our home in Fairfax for April's
meeting.
