To make up for the rain that canceled the last practice on April 29th
we’ll start the day with three battles. (open field, limited front, and
bridge) evaluate problem areas (rallies, charging, aggression, etc...)
then breakdown into three (at most) major groups (Shields, ranged
weapons, Cav types) and conduct some focused training for an hour. Then
fight three more battles and start the process over again. After that we
should be able to run several scenarios with constant improvement in each.

For May 6th our fighting cousins, Galitia, have extended an invitation
for us to join them for a day of melee. Let us honor them by giving them
a great fight and many stories to share at the Pennsic campfire and use
what was learned the weekend before to crush them. Only fair, since they
are planning to do the same to us.

For APRIL 29:
Noon – 1pm: Single bouts to warm up
1pm – 4pm: Various melee scenarios
Alas, this site does not allow for combat archery

Location and Directions:
Practice is behind the Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library 7584 Leesburg
Pike, Falls Church. Take your best route to I-495. Get off at the exit
for Route 7 East (Falls Church). The library is on the left about 1
mile. Park in the library lot and go down the hill to the park.

For MAY 6:
Pickups start at 10 am, with Melees to start at 11am.
This war practice will have combat archery in all scenarios. SCA combat
rules will be used for the day (in case that was a question). Finn of
House BlackSpear will help run the scenarios and marshal activities.
Many thanks to Gregor Von Leipzig of Storvik for arranging the site and
Morgrendel of Galitia for the challenge. See http://galatia.us/challenge
