Greetings Scott et. al.,
I don't know, as far as the table top seige engines go, you would have to address this question to the KEM. As the rules read I would imagin, but I do not know for certain, not being a marshal. These sorts of questions are better address to the Marshal's office and if you want to rules lawyer them, then to the Kingdom Earl Marshal who can actually answer the questions and concerns of these types of enquiries. I can only interpret what I read, and that not so successfully apparently. So please address Marshal questions to Duncan or KEM.
At this point it is questionable in my mind weather anyone really wants to DO the Fiore demonstration under the SCA guidelines --having James and Scott sign wavers to slow work a well documented fighting style and have a Marshal present to watch not only the demonstartors but the crowd. The KEM expressed and interest in having it done, but at this point its up to the interested parties. There is not that much really to do accept find a Marshal and two waiver forms.
There is concern about the Demo and what Society has on the rule books but I think applying to KEM and SEM (society earl marshal) and explaining the demonstration for the elementary school they might allow us to do it. It just fall to the Barony and the participants as to how much effort they want to put towards this demonstration.
YIS,
Lady Maria-Therese de Normand
Seneschal, Ponte Alto

At a demo that Liz and I did a month or so ago large
marshmallows were shot at the children from table top
siege engines. In light of this new ruling should a
Marshall be present for these types of activities in
the future?
