I was requested to forward this information to Ponte Alto, as my Lord Giles
O'Culzean could not find a way to do so himself. So, with compliments from
the Loyal Order Of Fools & Artists, may I present an update for Ice Axe:

Greetings. Attached is the corrected pricing for Ice Axe
on Feb. 22. My apologies for the intrusion on your lists,
but I felt it was incumbent on me to get this information
out on a broad distribution. List moderators, I hope you
will pass this through. Loofa and Elvegast, please share
with your respective baronies; I could not find a listing
for them. I have taken the liberty of adding contest/prize
information, and feast information as I have had many
requests for the same.

In Service,

Giles O'Culzean

This announcement contains ammended pricing to address the
concern of the $3.00 non-member cost for children. The
children's site rate has been discounted so that no site
fee is required for minors. The minor's feast fee has also
been adjusted, which was a prior omission.

Ice Axe in the College of Yarnvid

Once again we find ourselves confronted with the Ice Axe of
Winter. Yet why should we not be merry? Ice has no power
to bite when confronted by warmth!

Therefore, gather together with us at our hall for
contests, amusements, and feasting! Strive at arms for the
warrior's bearded axe. Let fly your shafts to bring down
the prize of a dozen forged points. Shew forth your
artisans skills in persona accessories for the cast silver
broach. Hold forth with bardic might for the mounted horn
filled with coins. Contest at games of skill and chance
for the silver shield broach! Are you yet of tender years?
Then shew forth your art for the book on the Vikings! If
these strivings be not for you, then come for camaraderie,
table games and hall contests, for dancers from the east,
song and story, and fine food!

The celebration shall be held in the College of Yarnvid on
the twenty-second day of February 2003. The site is the
Powhatan County Fairgrounds on Rt. 60 in Powhatan, VA.
Hall hours are 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. The hall is
discreetly wet, and you are reminded to have ID with you if
you will be drinking alcohol. Children under five are

is $5.00. Member's site fee Is $6.00. Feast is free for
children under 5 (with on-board parent), $5.00 for ages 5
to 15, and $7.00 for ages 16 and up, received by 02/14/03.
(Note that you need to register children under 5 for them
to have a feast reservation.) At the door, add $1.00 per
fee. Feast requests at the door are on an as available
basis. Non-member adults (age 18 and over) are subject to
the $3.00 fee required by the SCA. Proof of current or
pending membership must be presented to claim member
status. Per prior events at this site, no off-board dining
