Noble Friends,

Today the History Blog reports on a second, and more complete, 1300
year-old ski found on Mount Digervarden in southern Norway. A previous ski
was found here in 2014. Since then scientists had been waiting for its
possible mate to appear as the ice receded.

The "new" ski is more complete than the first, and has some slight
differences, so maybe they are not a pair. Or, they might have been mates
built at different times, perhaps one a replacement. Who knows:

What the archaeologists haven't found yet is evidence for a chair lift.

Yours Aye,

Lord Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
