Noble Friends,
Today's History Blog story is all about a cave with a medieval Christian
shrine which was revealed by a recent landslide along a railway route. The
cave is being referred to as St. Catherine's Cave, from a near-by church,
and is located near Guilford in Surry.
What remains of the cave is in terrible condition, being in crumbling
sandstone. Only a small portion remains, the rest having been destroyed
when the railway was built in the 1840s.
The whole story, with photos, is at

Yours Aye,
Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
