Noble Friends,

According to the BBC, the French government is investing millions in a
revamp of the museum and visitors' centre at the Agincourt battlefield
site. Among the changes are a radical rethinking of the size of the two
armies based on surviving French and English pay records and other sources.
The new interpretation numbers the armies at about 12,500 French and 8,500
English. This is a serious reduction in Shakespeare's "terrible odds" of
six to one.

More about the how the French view one of their greatest military defeats
can be found at https://www.bbc.com/news/business-47427608 .

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
