Noble Friends, Especially Vikings and Fellow Scots,

The maverick Lewis chessman offered by the descendants of an antiques
dealer who paid £5 for the piece in the 1960s has been auctioned by
Sotheby's. The sale price was £735,000! And the winner is . . . unanounced.
