Noble Friends,

Today you can join Rossi Thomson exploring the history of the University of
Padua and its reputation as the birthplace of modern medicine. The medieval
university, founded in 1222, was at the forefront of many medical
discoveries, especially in anatomy. The world's first anatomical theatre
was built here in 1594-95. The building still exists, much as it was when
candle-lit dissections were performed for education of medical students and
the entertainment of the general public, accompanied by a violin orchestra
to lighten the mood.

The fascinating story and photos are at

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🦆
