Noble Friends,

The Book of Shrewsbury is a richly illuminated manuscript containing poems
and stories of kings and heroes. It was commissioned by John Talbot, 1st
Earl of Shrewsbury, and presented to Margaret of Anjou in honor of her
betrothal to Henry VI circa 1445/45. The book is quite martial, and is
thought to have been an odd gift to a woman. It is possible that the book
was intended for Talbot himself, and he presented it to the princess
because it was at hand.

You can read more about The Book of Shrewsbury at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talbot_Shrewsbury_Book .

The book is among the great treasures of the British Library, and has been
fully digitized, though only significant portions show on the BL website.
To see all the pages, you must leaf through the book one page at a time:

the text is in French, but you can still enjoy the pictures.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
