Noble Friends,

Wikipedia is somewhat vaguely promoting today as the beginning of Jack
Cade's Rebellion. This 1450 rising in Kent was against the government of
Henry VI. Cade and his followers managed to enter London where they
looted and pillaged, plus executing several nobles whom they blamed for
the loss of Normandy and for general corruption. King Henry pardoned
Cade and his followers and they dispersed. When the rebels were no
longer a direct threat, he withdrew his pardons and had them ruthlessly
hunted down and killed. Cade himself was mortally wounded in a skirmish
in July.
