Noble Friends, Especially Fellow Bibliophiles:
Today the BBC offers a story about the discovery of a leaf from a
Caxton-printed book which likely dates to 1476 or 1477. William Caxton
was the first English printer, and his pioneering presses and bookshop
produced and sold the earliest mass-produced books in the realm. The
single sheet, printed on two sides and is from the SARUM ORDINAL, a
handbook for priests with details of feast days of English saints.
