Noble Friends,

Hamnet Shakespeare, only son of the Bard and Anne Hathaway, died on this
date in 1596, possibly of "plague" (which could mean a lot of diseases).
Hamnet was a twin to his sister Judith, and was baptized 2 February
1585, though the exact date of his birth is not recorded. Scholars
debate the influence the death of Hamnet had on Shakespeare's writing,
but there is little doubt that it did have an effect. You can read more
about Hamnet Shakespeare at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamnet_Shakespeare . More about
Shakespeare's family is found here:
https://www.thoughtco.com/the-family-of-shakespeare-2985106 .

I searched online for Hamnet's grave and found the location listed as
Holy Trinity Churchyard in Stratford-upon-Avon, the same place his
famous father and his mother are buried (though inside the church):
https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=104322565 . There
is no indication here that a monument or the specific grave location
still survives. Shakespeare's daughters are also buried here. Susannah
Shakespeare Hall is also buried inside the church, and here grave is
marked. Judith Shakespeare Quiney is buried in the churchyard, but the
exact location is now unknown.

Yours Aye,

Mungo Napier, Laird of Mallard Lodge
