[MR] OT: 80s Book series on King Arthur?

I loved anything about King Arthur when I was in High School, never heard of
the SCA until I met my husband.  

My father and I shared books all time including Marion Zimmer Bradley's
"Mist of Avalon". But the series you are looking for might be Mary Stewart's
Arthurian Saga starting with the Crystal Cave.
