Sapphire Joust will be in 2 weekends. Summer is about to begin for real! The
heavy and rapier fighters should be out enmass having fun. What will you be
doing?
Waterbearers are needed to circulate around the list fields and make sure the
fighters stay hydrated. There are no age limitations or special requirements
needed to offer water or gatorade to those poor hot sweaty muscled noble lords
and ladies in armor. ;D If you are able to help for an hour or more, please stop
by the Chirurgeon's tent. We will most likely also need waterbearers as people
gather for Court. Many hands will make light work, and a safer Event for all!
If you have a desire, or are even wondering about it, to become a Chirurgeon,
please stop by Chirugeon's Point (the tent between the fighting field and the
merchants, assuming it will be in the same spot as years past). Chirurgeons must
have at least a current CPR certification, have a current Red Cross First Aid
Certification (or higher medical certs), be a SCA member, and be over the age of
18 (16 year olds can be a CIT, and work under a warrantedChirurgeon until they
are 18.). You would fill out an application and send it along with a photocopy
of your certs, membership card, and proof of age to the Kingdom Chirurgeon. You
will serve as a Chirurgeon In Training (CIT) under a warrantedChirurgeon for at
least 3 Events, and then become a WarrantedChirurgeon yourself! This position
enables you to be of service to the populous of Atlantia in a very healthy ways!
The Chirurgeonwebpage is: http://chirurgeon.atlantia.sca.org/index.php
The CIT application form is
at: http://sca.org/officers/chirurgeon/pdf/CiTApp-07.pdf
See you at Sapphire (friendly visits are best, but chirurgeons are always
willing to help you with the minor stuff and call 911 for the major stuff)
Yours in Service,
Blitha of Wolfhou
