I have a terrinle tim remembering but many years ago i read what i think might have been a book in Turkish textiles , though it well ould have been Indian about the evoluion of a tradiional pattern callr dth palm leaf or the pouquet. For th life of me it is vauge but i remmber several drawing with it that sort of ad giant leaf and a bouquet and like an escher pinting , several mnifestaions laer it was a paisly shpe. Has anyone else ever seen this and ould lead me back to it?

I should also add, I'm not saying don't use paisley...my suggestion
would be to search for designs that reflect the textiles of the period
you are trying to reproduce rather than using an obviously modern
paisley because "paisleys are period", grin. A period paisley motif is
not always the same as those produced by modern designers. But if you
find something that is similar to a period fabric, jump on it (and buy
extra for me, hahahah)
