Nor do you want to sleep in a 100% waterproof tent. I remember going  
on a long-term Boy Scout outing (Philmont) where the tents were small,  
backpacking tents of a single layer of waterproof nylon. Yes, they  
kept you dry from any outside rain, but the moisture from the  
occupants' breath would condense on the inner surface of the tent and  
then drip down on said occupants.  That is why the higher-grade  
backpacking tents are made of breathable nylon and you cover them with  
a tarp of waterproof nylon. This allows the moisture out of the tent,  
but the tarp keeps the rain out.
