LOL! I can tell I've been too deep in my job today, because I
immediately thought "the note you sign to promise to pay the bank back
for your mortgage".
But it's similar. In this case, it's a temporary scroll, or a
"promise" to deliver to you a real scroll, when (and if) the
requirements for same are met, and a _volunteer_ is available to make
it.
