Just an idea...
Suppose folks volunteered to 'foster' a newcomer at an event...If somebody shows 
up who is new, they are directed or escorted to that person's camp and 
introduced, so that the newbie has someone/somewhere to call home base for the 
day, and somebody to answer questions. No 'branding' required.

To make finding the fostering camps easier, volunteers could get a gold key flag 
or sign from Troll to post outside their camp.
If several people volunteer, then that would take care of all the new folks that 
show up. I think it would also give more opportunities for the new folks, and if 
the newbies don't like their 'foster camp', they can go to Troll & trade up.
