As with any group.   You're part of a group.  Being part of a group doesn't give you the right to force other people into your priorities.  Especially a general group like this.  In a group situation we wade through the stuff we don't want to the stuff we do want because we're not elitists.  We stomp our feet and tell the world to bend to our priorities as part of a group.
