Your Excellency Baron Axel,

It is with a happy heart to hear you have returned safely to your
lands, despite the near disaster that befell you in our beloved lands
of Stierbach.

I, may be over-stepping my bounds; but I feel it is warranted in this
case to do so; for that while you may be the adversary of Stierbach, we
would not sink so low as to ambush you upon our roads with ill-intent.
For we as Steirbachi are proud, and face our challengers openly and
with courage!

I speaking for myself alone, do say if I find the culprits of your near
accident, I will take them to our good Baron for proper chastisement;
and look forward to the noble endevor of contest between our lands
later in the year.

Lord Takeda Akimasa
Ushikawa Han (district)
Barony of Stierbach

Upon reflection you just might have a point. While I was travelling
incognito
using the Christmas season as a cover to check into certain disturbing
rumors
that had come to my ears regarding actions by the "Northerners", it
soon became
apparent that "Northern" agents knew I was there. (Incidentally, have
you
noticed the similarity in the the words Yank-IE and Stierbach-IE). I
believe an
attempt might have been made on me by northern agents. Luckily, my
squire Balin
insisted at the last minute that he take the lead carriage instead of
me when we
went to lunch on Christmas eve. Probable Northern provocateurs
attempted to ram
the lead carriage in our convoy by running a plainly marked red signal
and
without even slowing down. They moved thru the cross roads a great
speed not
even slowing. Only the lighting fast reflexes born of years of my
training
resulted in Balin, who was at the reins of the lead carriage, avoiding
the
Northerners. They, of course, disappeared into the wilds
of Stierbach before we could mount an effective chase. Rest assured I
will
discuss this with their Excellencies Stierbach, or their
representatives, at
12th Night. I did however learn that the rumors of the recent large
amounts of
snow suffered here in the Barony being due to weather manipulation by
bureaucrats in Storvik's NOAA organization, at the direction of
Stierbach, were
untrue. All in all it is good to be back home in the warmer climes of
the south.
Hey, also, what have youall been feeding our Phoenix while I was gone?
Does she
look liike she's put on weight to youall?

Axel

Baron, Sacred Stone

  Your Excellency,
I am glad you made it back from the northern reaches safely. Andin
enough
time to join us up in Middlegate for the Holiday Party on Saturday!

On the subject of the lack of Internet and sparse amenities during
your
  stay, I have a theory......
Stierbach is to blame! This is obviously a plot by our foes. Somehow
they
infiltrated the Hyatt staff in an effort to take down our Barony from
the
  top!
Now I know that you, our beloved Baron, want to see only the good in
everyone and will have a hard time believing this is true but, I
submit this
  evidence....

  1. No Internet - Clearly a plan to keep you from any important
communications with your people. Also how could you call for help
should
something go wrong. You would be totally cut off from the aid of your
  populace!

   2. Pay to Park -This devious plot is plain to see! Thinking that you
would
want to save your money for all of the wonderful presents that you
where
planning to bring back for you people, they planned on you refusing
to pay
for the parking and instead parking on the street. I can only imagine
the
horrors they had planned for you if you had fallen for there scheme.
I for
one gladly give up the treasures I am sure you had planned to dole
out to
your loving populace, in exchange for your safe return!

   3. No Breakfast - I am appalled at this, to take away the most
important
meal of your day! What kind of animals would resort to trying to
starve a
fellow noble! I think that they expected you to be so disoriented by
the
lack of food that you would fall right into some bigger trap they had
planned. All I can say is, silly people, don't they know that our
Baron can
survive on the nectar of his homeland, Cheerwine, for many, many days
and
has no need of their silly breakfast!

So, your excellency I submit these three clear pieces of treachery as
evidence of the plot against you and our Barony. I am very relieved
that you
made it safely back to your lands, relatively unscathed. Though
please be
careful! This failure will only strengthen their efforts.

  In service,
  Lady Murienne l'aloiere
  Incoming Seneschal
