I find it extremely difficult to believe that any group would be so petty and narrow-minded that they would not want to host a kingdom level event because of who is sitting on the throne. Certainly, there are such childish individuals in every group. That is one of those unfortunate certainties of life.
Hosting a kingdom level event is an honor for any group, giving the members of the group the opportunity to shine before all of Atlantia. The hard work the members of a group put into making a kingdom level event a success reflects well on the entire group. The goal of hosting a kingdom level event is to make everyone in attendance feel like a very special and welcome friend.
As for having a permanent site for crown tournaments, I don't think there is a solution that will make everyone happy. Not every group has access to a beautiful site like the Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Center or Camp Mitchell in Swansboro. There is no one site that will be convenient to everyone in Atlantia. And I do see the pitfalls of hosting a crown tourney at a site that is a five-hour drive away. Something needs to be done, and I'm not sure what is the best solution.

The problem that I have noticed in recent yrs. has been the lack of groups willing to host kingdom level events, because either they don't like who is currently sitting on the throne, or the group, who ever they are, were not in a position with the kingdom to hold a kingdom level event. Even though they had the enthusiasum to do so. I for one don't want to host an event over on the other side of NC or in VA, or MD and not know anything about the site, & have to travel hours to do so. Not to mention having to depend on someone from another group to provide food stuff for the feast or anthing else for that matter. This in my opinion, doesn't help out the far reaching groups to stay financially sound and will in the long run over work the groups who are going to have to fill in, if the hosting group doesn't, won't or can't provide the needed personnel to work the event. Just soemthing to think about. YIS Senora Dorothea M. Ponce
