[MR] Principalty and new Kingdom?

If the issue here is that of travel costs and inconvenience, then making a principality that never seperates would only make the problem twice as bad. Officers of state would be expected to attend twice as many high level events (Kingdom and Principality). Crowm and Coronet lists required for both sets of rulers. None of this changes until there is a formal break with a new Kingdom. So how do we save money without eventually cutting the cord, so to speak?

If the issue is a difference of culture as well as financial burden, then splitting becomes even more of a positive issue.

I "grew up" in the SCA in Southern Atlantia (ask me sometime why I use SYR). I love the 2day-2night camping events, the dancing til 2am, the party til you drop, the cabins and camping. It made the SCA such a wonderful and warm experience.

But even in the days when I was working for my Knighthood (pre-'84), there was a big cultural difference between the North and South. There still is. Is it strong enough by itself to cause separation? Probably not, but add financial issues and the burden of covering all the scheduled events and the issues begin to add up.

Each of us must make our own decision, but I have favored a split into two separate entities for, oh, 25 years or so. Guess my opinion just got loose.

YMMV, of course,
Syr Richard
