[MR] scrolls and such

I'm not sure that the root problem is folks not registering arms - heck, I
registered mine 6 or 7 years ago (shortly after I got my AoA), yet I've
never received a scroll. (That is not a complaint, just an observation).
Scribes are artisans. It takes a lot longer to produce a nice "promissary"
than it does a t-tunic. Yet we seem to expect this small (relative to the
population of the kingdom) group of artisans to provide scrolls, paying for
them out of pocket.
How many awards to a king and queen give out during a reign? Multiply by 2,
then add the annual awards from every baron & baroness and you have the
expected output these gentles would have to provide to keep up with demand.
Service is a gift. Why is their such an entitlement mentality about
scrolls?
There are many scroll blanks on the clerk signet page that are lovely.
Printed on nice "parchment" looking paper from Staples and handpainted, they
are very nice. I think the whole idea of promissory should go the way of
the dodo. Make that the standard and if someone wants something nicer,
commission one. Or if a friend is getting an award, commission one for
them.
I'm not trying to sound mean, but I think the whole idea is an unfair
expectation.
