Greetings to the Tavern,

Forgive me if this has already been suggested. I now have 3000 unread messages and am chipping away, but I think I've read enough that the following suggestion may be unique.

Include the registering of arms and scroll production process in newcomer's courses and encourage it in newcomer discussions.

I'm willing to work up a handout on the process that could be given out at meetings, events, by the chatelaine at demos, etc. Please let me know and I will happily supply after I run it past Master Tristan and Triton. (Need a manual? I'm your person.)

This may help dispel some of the myths of when and how to register arms and when and how you can expect a real scroll v. promissory. This will let newcomer's know their options and what to expect based on where they are/have chosen to be in the name and arms registration process. Knowing that there are hoops and where they lay and that they aren't scary may be all the encouragement some need to jump through them.

  YIS,
  Mori Matsunomae
(Name and Arms registered and passed this year after about 10 years in Society)
