MilordI replied before reading your post. You are correct. In the isolated part of Prince George's County, DNR has gone through and cut all the Ash trees down in the quarantine area. I saw some samples of wood in the warehouse where they're doing this, and some branches were just littered with the larval trails. DNR has been putting all the trees through the wood chipper twice to be sure they're getting everything. Though, I'm not sure what they're doing with the woodchips.Regards,Isolda--- On Fri 06/29, Dexter Guptill < 3fgburner at gmail.com > wrote:From: Dexter Guptill [mailto: 3fgburner at gmail.com]To: atlantia at atlantia.sca.orgDate: Fri, 29 Jun 2007 08:22:25 -0400Subject: Re: [MR] Firewood Ban at PennsicMy Lady Wife said they've got one outbreak in Maryland, that they'retrying to contain. Essentially, it involves cutting down everything, and chipping it down to 1/2 inch bits. Then you root and destroy thestumps.Areas of Michigan and Detroit look like an arboreal
Black Death hashit -- there are so many dead trees, they can't cut them all down.On 6/29/07, Scribe0002 at aol.com wrote:> A particularly nasty pest has been found in PA, near Pennsic.
