Thanks.  I should probably also point out (especially as a future
autocrat--karma may come back to bite me if I don't) that it would be very
helpful if people who see such problems occurring would give the autocrat a
heads-up.   An autocrat can't be all-knowing or all-seeing, nor can they be
everywhere at once, and there's no way to deal with a problem you're not
aware of.

Of course, not knowing the situation Mathilde mentioned, it might well be
that the autocrat or other event staff *did* handle the situation properly
at an individual level, but that it left such a bad taste in a particular
group's or person's mouth, that they decided banning animals at events was
preferable to the headache.
