I think that probably sums up the reason for the low number of bids. It
sounds rather difficult to find a site that meets those criteria. If a group
has an "in" with a school, college, or maybe even a large church, they might
be able to get the site free or low cost. Or it might be possible to do
some sort of service for the site in exchange for a discount or free
rental. Without that, though, how do you get an acceptable site?

I had heard that kingdom does now have a fund to cover some of the Unevent
costs. Perhaps it would help if, around the time groups need to think about
getting bids together, kingdom would announce the dollar figure that's
available to cover the cost of Unevent. That way, groups would have a
better financial basis to figure out whether putting in a bid would be
feasible.

I'm curious. For groups who have hosted Unevent in the past, how do you go
about finding a free or very inexpensive site with the requisite number of
classrooms? Any advice for other baronies or shires who might want to put
in a bid at some point?

Adriana Michaels
