But if we were to restrict naming conventions solely to period
conventions, then many more people would be called Knight and Sir than
just heavy weapons fighters.
Also our definitions of Duke/Count/Viscount don't match period usage.
But yes, otherwise, your point is correct. Though I think there are
probably many other SCA-isms you may wish to fight first, than the use
of THL which 'sounds period', and is at least documentable back to the
18th century.
