[MR] RE: *WH* reactions to competitions

As a fighter and an artisan, I've always thought it interesting that
people complain about arts competitions.

After all, if I enter the fighting field with my new set of techniques
and they don't measure up, I get (if I'm lucky!) a good wallop upside
the head or (if I'm not so lucky!) a painful bruise on my bottom.

Puts a few rude judges in perspective for me, I can tell you!  As I can
show from personal experience, sticks and stones *can* break my bones.

Rebecca's advice to contestants is very good, and applicable to fighters
as well as artisans.
