[MR] Long term Pennsic Merchant thrown out without warning

While certainly not denying the Coopers are well within their rights to do
whatever they like on their land, one would think that *perhaps* some small
leeway for a merchant of longstanding, who is also not, *if the initial
report is to be believed*, sponsoring martial activity, but merely allowing
a customer to try out a purchase.

Since the report states that the customers were shooting into the *side* of
a pavilion, and not at one another, I for one cannot see that this qualifies
as martial activity of any sort. AND that this is an activity that has
taken place over a long span of time (17 years at Pennsic, 9 merchanting at
the same spot per the initial report) also argues for the use of that SO
UNCOMMON attribute Common Sense. Did the "crime" in this case meet the
punishment? On the surface, I would say no.

As I stated before, Cooper's land, they can certainly treat their paying
guests anyway they wish. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and having
worked in politics for the past dozen years, also leaves me wondering where
this new attitude will lead.

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I've too often seen that the old axiom is correct.
Power corrupts....

Let us hope it does not come to that. I would hate very much for Pennsic to
be over before I ever get to go. I look forward to hearing the entire
matter laid out before us.
