Many of the sea chanties I know or know of, I have heard to more than one tune. I suspect that any tune that fits the meter would work in many cases. Tune-swapping has always intrigued me. Did you know that "My Darling Clementine," the "Ode to Joy" and the "Marine Corps Hymn" can be sung to each others' tunes? <EG> Donal
