Good gentles,
Do be kind enough to read the law carefully.
A medieval hood does not "conceal the identity of the wearer"
This is not, by the way, a "dumb law".
A KKK hood doe conceal identity, and that is the purpose of the law.
Showing up in Klan "costume" on someone's private property is against
the law unless the property owner gave written permission.
This lets any law enforcement officer toss those <expletive-deleted>
masked folks into jail just for entering someone's property without
permission.
They don't have to wait until *after* the lynching is done. It is, in
fact, an "anti-domestic terrorist" piece of legislation.
FYI, NC law also forbids the training of military units except for
federal and state-controlled units, and those associated with an
educational institution. As the SCA is a non-profit educational
organization, we should also be exempt.
