Yes, it is a silly law.  Yes, chances are that it would NEVER be enforced 
in our cases.

But for the record, it is an official law, and therefore CAN be enforced, 
should someone care to do so.  If someone didn't like the SCA, etc, etc, 
etc, ...  It could be brought before court (chances are that a judge would 
throw it right out, but still, ya never know).

And yes, a medieval hood CAN "conceal the identity of the wearer", if deep, 
and pulled far enough forward.  And yes, as was pointed out by someone 
else, a Helm (Particularly something like a great helm) fulfills this rule 
quite well ...

So it is still something 'good to know' that this law is in fact in the 
books, whether there is anything to do about it, probably not, but it's 
good to know.

Similar to one particular law in Maryland that would have quite gotten Bill 
Clinton in trouble had he lived here, instead of D.C.  It's illegal to 
receive or give oral sex in Maryland, anywhere, anytime ...  (Can also be 
found at dumblaws.com, and many other places)
