[MR] Queen's Spearmen?

Greetings!

I was reading Baron Donal Mac Ruiseart's excellent article regarding Use of 
the Spear in the latest TI, when I recalled some discussion a few years back 
about forming a unit of Spearmen called "the Queen's Spearmen". This unit was 
supposed to be created from light/rapier fighters, who were also authorized 
in heavy weapon, and wished to be active on the larger heavy weapon battle 
fields. The idea was that point control is point control, be it a Rapier or a 
Spear.

Did anything ever become of this idea?
