As a peer, I have a duty to advise the crown, but no obligation to be
in fealty. The crown is free to do what they will with my advice.
Atlantian law does speak to areas where the whim of the crown can be
employed (pretty much anything not specificly required or forbidden can
be so treated). But, the Crown is not the be-all and end-all of what is
law. Neither is such a situation period for most values of time and place.

The fact that there is no firm enforcable constraint on the directors that
does not involve civil law suits does not mean that we should countenance
having a similar lack of control over actions by royalty. 

No, I am not a monarchist. Hell, was a Marklander before I was a SCAdian.
I don't automatically disrespect the Crown; I reserve that opprobrium for
those who earn it. I think I have given my fealty to exactly two Crowns.
Note "given", not "sworn", as I will not swear an oath. I do presume that
the Crown is worthy of my respect until their actions show otherwise.
No, I am not going to name names.
