im not on the board of directors so i really dont know.  i would assume that
they have and you are probably right.  if membership were required for entry
to an event, and it were $5, we wouldnt be talking about this.  however,
seeing that membership is only $20 and most events cost about that i dont
think there is any need to lower the cost.  im not sure if the sca.org
website has anything about the idea of lowering membership rates or not (ive
not really looked at it to deeply) but you might want to try there, or,
contact them directly and ask.  if you do that please drop me a line and let
me know what they said.  i would be interested in knowing.

only held membership for one year because I didn't want to beg my mother to
fork out that money for me because I only went to about 5 events.
