I'm thinking a one or two-hour class, depending on the number of participants (or maybe two classes if there's enough interest). We should have instruction on how to inspect the atlatl and its darts, with examples to handle. We need instruction on scoring schema, and on special events such as how to stage an atlatl battle. Finally, we all need a chance to throw at least a couple of darts. If we have an atlatl range with lots of loaner equipment that is open frequently during the event, this might be done ad-hoc by each marshal. If not, then during the class itself we should each get a chance to throw darts under the instruction of an experienced marshal. Finally, we need a decent one or two-page handout.
