Greetings Atlantia,

Just a reminder, the deadline for class proposals for Summer session being
held at Louisa County Middle School in Mineral, VA on June 14, 2014 is fast
approaching.

If you are interested in teaching a class, organizing a track of classes,
or have an idea for a class but don't know who to turn to, please view
http://university.atlantia.sca.org/teach.php or send a note to me at
university at atlantia.sca.org. The University website has a class proposal
form that will let you send along class proposals once you are logged into
the website. I ask that you please send me your class proposal information,
either through the website or via email, by* April 28, 2014 *for TRACK
proposals and *May 5, 2014* for individual class proposals.

Some have sent me requests or have responded to requests to teach a class,
but have not yet turned in their class requirements. Please do so a soon
as possible so we can get the registration started quickly.

Please send me the following information via website or email.

- Instructor name (SCA and modern)
- Class title
- Fees (if any)
- Max number of students (the default maximum is 25)
- Duration of class (1 hour, 2 hours, or more)
- Class description
- Any special requests including equipment or space requirements for the
class, as well as any conflicts. This includes equipment the instructor
would need from the site. E.g.: projector, sturdy tables, etc. Equipment is
not necessarily available, but it can't hurt to ask.

As always, thank you for supporting our Kingdom University.

In service,
Lisette la Roux
University Chancellor

Servas!

Heraldry is glorious! Whether display of armory on pennon or shield, gown
or tabbard declaring the presence of this great house or that grand lady.
Or the words of a skilled herald challenging any and all to note the
presence of a combattant on the field, Heraldry is much to be desired!

To that end the College of Heralds of Atlantia will sponsor not one, not
two but THREE heraldic competitions at the upcoming Crown Tournament!

First, a Spike banner crafted by Lady Murienne to the individual, house or
group with the Best Heraldic Display at their Field Presence.

Second, a handmade blank book made by Mistress Aneira to the Herald who is
judged to have done the finest job heralding his or her combattant and
consort in the Procession.

Third, Prize to be decided ... Sponsored by Triton, the Roll of Arms
competition creates a historical record of the fight for Crown at each
Crown Tournament. Contestants may create this record in a number of forms,
either poetry, prose, song or artistic rendering of the combattants' arms.

The entries must reflect the heraldry of each combattant. (For example, if
Duke Michael is an entrant, a poetic rendering might say "The mighty lion
roared" when referring to him.)

The entrants have the day of the tourney to work on their entries. The
winner(s) then are asked to dress up their work for inclusion in the
official book and are given 6 months to do so.
