[Ponte Alto] donations

Donating on the SCA.Org membership page is a great way to support the
society. If, however, you want the funds to go to Atlantia to support our
portion of the settlement, you can send your donations to the Kingdom
Chancellor of the Exchequer. That's me! My mailing address is on the
kingdom regnum: http://acorn.atlantia.sca.org/regnum.php and checks would
be made out to "SCA Inc, Kingdom of Atlantia."

But further, we will soon (perhaps even starting tonight) be able to
contribute by ACCEPS. Their URL is http://acceps.ansteorra.org/index.php -
and you would, of course, select Atlantia.

We appreciate the great outpouring of Atlantian generosity. It's beginning
to look like we've got this situation well in hand.

Best wishes,

Anne of Carthew - Exchequer and Pontoon.

and Waiver news

This is a clarification/reminder of what was ASKED of us as a Barony.

Also, in response to Naran's question of how to donate, I found a place to
donate on the Membership Renewal pages. Otherwise, an FAQ page says that
donations should be made to the Kingdom.

news

Your Excellencies,

Below you will find my response to an email issued to your seneschals
earlier this evening by my VA regional deputy.

As I stated below, while I appreciate the spirit behind the message, it does
NOT reflect or represent the expectation of Their Majesties, Their Highness
or myself.

This is a time for thoughtful decisions and great care. It is of the upmost
importance that this process garner no ill will - that, most of all, is the
top priority of Their Majesties, Their Highnesses and myself.

Please continue to proceed as has been directed by Their Majesties in Their
missive to you on Saturday.

Regards,

Alesia

My good seneschals of Virginia,

While I appreciate the intent behind this challenged issued to you by Baron
Kendrick, I must step in to remind you what has already been communicated by
Their Majesties, Master Gravesend and myself.

****There is no required contribution from any branch. We are asking the
Baronies for $400 to keep the Kingdom whole through the end of this year.
There is no request for contributions to the Shires or Cantons.***

One of the great aspects of the Kingdom being able to pay; the branches
within the Kingdom can take their time and consider their financial position
carefully before making any contribution.

*Do take the time to consider your branch's financial position and discuss
any contribution with your populace.

*As you conduct these discussions remember to take into account the possible
impact of any contribution fully and completely. Please be doubly sure to
explain those impacts to your populace.

*Repeatedly remind them (and yourselves) that there is no required
contribution. We have asked that each barony contribute $400 to the Kingdom
as a stopgap measure to ensure that we have sufficient operating funds to
meet our existing obligations.

In this pivotal time you, as branch seneschal, must do your best to keep
everyone calm and help them resist the want to be overly zealous by 'coming
to the rescue' only to put your branch in a untenable financial position
later this year or next.

It is exceptionally important that every Atlantian understand that any and
all contributions are voluntary.

Regards,

Alesia
