music, games and classes....Join the Barony of Lochmere tomorrow

The schedule of classes for the Gathering of Guilds on January 17th is
herewith presented:

Take your best route to I-97. Take exit 10A to merge onto Benfield Blvd
toward Severna Park. The church is about 3.8 miles from I-97 on the right.

Additionally, there will be displays and demonstrations by the
Craftsmen's Guild, the Performers' Guild, and others, throughout the
day.  (Individual performers are quite welcome to come 'take the floor'
during the day!)

A Gathering of Guilds

As Winter tightens its grip on the land, our attentions turn to the Arts and
Sciences to occupy us indoors until the return of warmer weather. The Baron
and Baroness of Lochmere invite the artisans of Atlantia and abroad to a
Gathering of Guilds, and hope to encourage marvelous collaborations between
the various arts. Their Excellencies will be choosing their Arts and
Sciences Champion, and other displays, competitions, and classes will be
organized. All are welcome to come, display their works, and mayhap learn a
new skill!
Arts & Sciences Activities

In addition to the Baronial A&S Champion Competition, the six 'Great Guilds'
will each be hosting displays, classes, and competitions. Each Guild has a
Guild-Head. The 'Guilds' along with there leaders and some examples of the
categories are:

The theme for the Baronial A&S Championship is 'Cooperation Between the
Guilds.' Any entry must be linked (even tenuously) to something done/used by
a different 'Guild.' For example, a 'Gilded Arts' entry could be an
illuminated piece of music for the 'Performance Arts'; a Craftsman could
make a pell for the Martial Guild, etc.
Feast

A dayboard-style feast of several courses throughout the day will be served,

First Course: Chicken

    * Roast Chicken with two sauces; Cinnamon orange, and Pickle for the
Mallard
    * Ruddy Rice Pudding

    * Mushroom Tarts
    * Honey-Glazed Compost
    * Cabbage

Third Course: Fish and Pork

    * Poached fish (salmon more than likely)
    * Bourbelier of Wild Pig
    * Sauces: Vert Sauce, Barbe Robert, Prune Sauce
    * Fried Greens
    * Hard Cheese and Bread

    * Fine Cakes
    * Hypocras and Wafers
    * Tartlets
    * Nuts

Make checks payable to SCA, Inc., Barony of Lochmere.

Any and all refund requests must be received in writing to the Exchequer,
Seneschal, or Autocrat, no later than 7 days after the event. Though e-mail
is acceptable for the initial request, a hard copy form must be completed
and submitted in order to obtain the refund. Refund Request forms will be
available at Troll the day of the event or you may print your own Refund
Request Form (pdf file).
