[Ponte Alto] Sapphire Joust IX

Good Morning. I am Lady Sophia Vander Werken and as part of the Expeditionary Corp I will be helping with coordination of transportation, hotel, camping and meals with our attendance to the  upcoming Sapphire Joust. 

Sapphire Joust IX with be on May23-26 at the Amelia Fair Grounds, Tom Scott Park. Amelia,VA. More information can be found on the website: http://www.geocities.com/sapphirejoust/

If camping please make sure you register. You can download the registration form on the Sapphire Joust website. Also let the land agent of your encampment know that you plan to camp with them. If planning to camp with Ponte Alto go to:http://pontealto.atlantia.sca.org/sapphire/index.php. If planning to camp with Stierbach go to: http://www.stierbach.org/

For those of you who do not wish to camp, there are rooms available at the Econo Lodge hotel which is close to the site(3 miles instead of the other hotels which are over 20 miles away). You can reach the Econo Lodge at 804-561-4220. Please call as soon as possible  to reserve a room. 

As for transportation we will have a caravan which will originate at the Lemon Road Elementary School (7230 Idylwood Road, Falls Church). We plan to meet-up at 6:30pm on Friday May 23rd. The site is only about 2.5 hours away so we should be arriving around 9:30pm. We can also arrange a secondary highway-friendly location in Stierbach to meet people.

If you need a ride to the event or if you have space for a extra rider please let me know. I will need match up those who need a ride with those who have the extra seat. Please contact me at our new email address: expeditionary at pontealto.org 

There will be no feast at Sapphire Joust. The Barron and Baroness of Ponte Alto, Jurgen and Flora, will be hosting a picnic potluck on Saturday evening. For those who wish to join are requested to bring a side dish or desert. It was suggested that those with the last name starting with A-M please bring a side dish. Those with a last name that starts with a N-Z, a desert. 

We are also planning to get together for Sunday dinner. We most likely will go to the Buster's Steak House. For Monday breakfast on our way out, we may go to the Cracker Barrel. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestion please let me know. Also RSVPs for all three of these: Picnic Pot Luck, Sunday dinner and Monday breakfast, are needed.

This is the first correspondence from me about the Sapphire Joust. More information and details will be forthcoming. I will be out of the country from April 22-29 so please do not use my personal email to contact me BUT use our new email: expeditionary at pontealto.org. All your questions and requests will be answered in a timely manner.
