Greetings and Salutations!

Love A&S, but not so fond of competition? Don't like leaving your prized
embroidery lonely on a table only to collect it at the end of the day? Tired of
doing all of your A&S at home, and not at events? Then join us at Artisans' Row!

I'm pleased to announce that the Barony of Dun Carraig will be hosting an
Artisans' Row at Challenge of the Heart the weekend of June 22-24. For those of
you who are unfamiliar with Artisans' Row, it is a space where artisans come
together to actually practice their craft. You can find more information about
Artisans' Rows across the Known World at www.artisansrow.org. All artisans, new
and not-so-new are invited to join us. This is an informal space where you can
work and play at your craft, meet others interested in your hobbies, and get a
chance to see how to do arts that you've always wondered about. We're looking
for artisans in all areas who want to come and share, spending all or just part
of the day working.

A non-exhaustive list of arts that would be appropriate for Artisans' Row:

    * Fiber arts - spinning, dying, weaving, sewing, embroidery, knitting, lace
making, fingerloop braiding, sprang, anything having to do with string,
costuming, or whatever else you can think of...
    * Calligraphy and Illumination...
    * Woodworking - carving, joinery, turning...
    * Metal work - casting, blacksmithing...
    * Pottery - wheel-thrown, hand-built, tile work, glazing...
    * Glassblowing and lampworking...
    * Cooking and baking...
    * Brewing and vintning...
    * Leather working - shoemaking, tooling, armour...
    * Armour maille knitting, ..
    * What do you do that nobody else does?

It's not formal classes, but teaching and learning WILL happen. If you just want
to bring stuff to work on yourself, that's fine. If you want to bring extras so
that you can lure in passers-by, that's definitely encouraged!

If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact me at
mathilde at mathildegirlgenius dot com. Please use "Artisans' Row" or something
descriptive in the subject line, so I don't delete it as spam. Let me know what
your space considerations or other needs are, and if you're willing to bring a
tent or dayshade to share. The day of the event, space will be assigned as
first-come, first-served, unless you have special needs, like close access to
water, lots of space, etc.

Details:

    * Water is available at the event site, but not in the immediate vicinity of
the Row.
    * No ground-fires are to be dug in the area, but portable firepits, torches,
etc. (within common-sense safety) are ok. Please let me know if you'll be using
fire.
    * Pets are allowed, on-leash.
    * This is a camping event. The event staff is not responsible for items left
alone, and we would recommend not leaving items out overnight.
    * We will not have tables and chairs available, so you will need to bring
whatever furniture and equipment you need.

This is your chance to show off, get feedback, give feedback, HAVE FUN, and meet
with other artisans. I hope to see you there!

Cheers,
Maistresse Mathilde Bourette
