I usually just lurk, but I was vastly amused by the idea of using fishing weights to keep track of one's charges--

Once, over ten years ago, I was a lady-in-waiting to the Queen of Caid.  This royal personal was not as amenable to being waited upon as one might think, and she was rather fleet of foot. Not to mention sneaky.

Many's the time we'd turn our heads and discover her halfway to Timbuktu, sans even guards, and the cry would go up: "Queen!" At which point guards and ladies alike would scurry after her.

This actually mattered more in the overall scheme of things than usual; there was an assassin on the loose, and she was his target . . .

Therein lies another tale--
