Forwarded from Mistress Karen, KMoAS, a useful thing to know about!

"Today's the beginning of the Washington Early Music Festival! There are concerts throughout this month in Washington, DC (and a few in College Park, MD) of Italian music of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the early Baroque.

There are even two FREE concerts this year -- both at the National Gallery of Art (which is hosting exhibits of Venetian drawings and paintings from the Renaissance) -- there's a concert of madrigals on June 18, and then a program of late Renaissance and early Baroque works on June 25. But lots of other concerts too! Some performances by DC-area groups, and some coming in for the Festival from other parts of the world.

See http://www.earlymusicdc.org<http://www.earlymusicdc.org/> for more information about the Festival and this year's concerts. :)

Karen"
