Greetings Bards of Ponte Alto!

My year as Baronial Bard is coming to a close, as Their Excellencies of
Ponte Alto, Marcellus and Belphoebe, will be selecting a new Baronial Bard
at the Baronial Birthday/Performer's and Dance Symposium on February 19,
2005.

All interested bards of Ponte Alto are invited to participate in the
competition. As the day is scheduled with classes, potential bards are
asked to prepare a piece for the evening performance. The set of potential
bards will perform first during the evening performance, after which a
baronial court to announce the winner will be held by Their Excellencies.

Bards are encouraged to "Bring it on!": their best performance, that is!
Pieces should be period or SCA related; filks and original works
encouraged. But most importantly, be entertaining!

Duties of the Baronial Bard include competing in the Bardic Champions
Competition at the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Festival the first weekend in
March (or appointing a proxy, after consulting with Their Excellencies),
adding new material to the Baronial Bard Book, and organizing the search
for a successor in a year. :) And of course, entertaining Their
Excellencies of Ponte Alto!

If you are interested in competing for Baronial Bard, Their Excellencies
request that you drop them ( baronage AT pontealto.atlantia.sca.org ) and
myself ( bard AT pontealto.atlantia.sca.org ) a note ahead of time
indicating your intent. Entertaining letters of intent are encouraged as
well! Last minute day-of entries are also acceptable, as all competitors
will be asked to identify themselves as such at Troll, and a token will be
provided to identify the competitors to Their Excellencies.

So polish up those songs, stories, poems, juggling acts, etc., and make
Their Excellencies' decision a hard one!!!

Baronial Bard, Barony of Ponte Alto
