  democracy. What is the role of Lotus Blossom, the local geisha girl? What 
  democratic function does a teahouse serve? This hilarious struggle between 
  the military’s effort to institute reform and the villager who always 
  out-maneuver the Captain, celebrates a wise and witty clash of cultures.
