Belphoebe is right, it's hard to tell from just a description without seeing 
it.  Checking different references would be one way to start.  Or you could 
come to a Newcomer's Night (it's this week as a matter of fact <G>) or 
Newcomer's Garb session and bring it along.  We'll be glad to look it over 
for you.
