Yea, Abel!!!

SO, Ponte Alto, how shall we contribute?

Abel, what do you need the most, besides people? What can the proud
Barony of Ponte Alto take off your hands?

For the "education" in "not-for-profit, educational organization,"
Sorcha :)

> I have very interesting news for the Baronies. Storvik has been
tentatively
> granted permission to use the National Mall to host an SCA Demo on May 10.
> The exact location is south of Constitution Ave, between 14th and 15th
> streets.
>
> This permit is based upon the following two contingencies. The first being
> that the land is not being developed as currently this space is scheduled
for
> construction; however Congress has not yet approved the construction
project.
> The final contingency is that the Park Service approves our permit
> application. Answers to both should be addressed by late March.
>
> For the demo we are seeking attendance to Heavy Fighters, Fencers,
> Performers, and Artisans to amuse the crowd, and to demonstrate the
various
> activities available within the SCA. Our land has been divided into three
> areas:
>
> The first section would be a tournament area shared by the heavy fighters
and
> fencers. I would ask that all interested fighters make themselves known to
> me. Lord Perrin (Storvik Marshall) will be the marshal for the day,
although
> I am sure he would like the assistance of another. Additionally we need a
fenc
> ing marshal, and fencers from Ponte-Alto. We can parcel the land again
into a
> fencing area and a fighting area or rotate between fencing and heavy
> depending on the number of participants that arrive for the day.
>
> The second section is a performance area. This would have dancing, acting,
> singing, etc. I would like to have this organized in the following manner:
> the "leader" of a group willing to demo contact me with a preferred time
> allotment and I will schedule them to use the area.
>
> The third area would be for an arts and science display. Various people
can
> show their crafts by showing them on a table, or thru live demo.
>
> Some of the things to keep in mind about the site:
> 1. Bone dry
> 2. We cannot provide food or drink to the spectators. We can however keep
> some for ourselves.
> 3. No archery
> 4. No live steel; however "Olympic style fencing" equipment is allowed
(so
> foils are okay but leave the Schlagers at home).
> 5. We need to provide our own chairs and tables
>
> Even though the demo is tentative it is imperative that we get organized
now.
> For those willing to participate please contact Abel Brem of Regnesfolc
> (abelofregnesfolc at aol.com).

> Yours in service,
> Lord Abel Brem
