Noble friends, especially Tudors,

A few days ago from the History Blog I posted about a book on cheeses. The
original article mentioned a docent from Kentwell Hall, Ruth Bramley, who
was able to read the book and contributed to the modern language version. I
found a web page for Kenwell Hall, and it was well worth the effort.

Kentwell Hall is a moated Tudor manor house dating from around 1530, the
exterior of which has been restored to its probable Todor appearance. It is
now run as a living history museum, with some 200 docents who depict
various characters from throughout Kentwell's history.

Their site is at https://www.kentwell.co.uk/ . For starters, you can marvel
at the lovely photographs of the building itself, or read about its
history. But, it gets better and better.

Kentwell sponsors a number of what we would call "demonstrations" with a
Tudor theme which are found under the click button "What's On". Scroll past
the calendar, and you will see each event. Use another click button "View
Event ➝ " and scroll further.. This will lead to a gallery of docents
dressed in commoners' Tudor clothes, a really valuable guide for garb. The
galleries of most interest are found with these events:

Tudor Midsummer
Hands on History
Tudor Michaelmas Weekend

Have fun exploring this site. It is well worth the time.

Yours Aye,
